Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Entebbe

A Sweet Escape Tours and Safaris representative will greet you warmly when you arrive at Entebbe International Airport and arrange for a transfer to your Entebbe hotel. You will visit the Mabamba Swamp, depending on when you arrive, to see a variety of water birds, including the rare shoebill stork.

Day 2 – Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will be driven to Entebbe International Airport after breakfast in order to catch your domestic flight to either Mweya Airstrip or Kisoro Airstrip. After an approximately one-hour flight, you will be met by our guide upon landing and taken on a game drive before checking into your lodge for lunch and check-in.

You will visit the park again in the afternoon for a game drive where you can see a variety of animals, such as herds of elephants, buffaloes, Ugandan kob, hippos, topi, waterbuck, giant forest hogs, Nile crocodiles, chimpanzees, lions, and spotted hyenas.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Morning game drive and Boat safari on Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Kasenyi plains. Large numbers of Ugandan kob live in these plains, and they draw the attention of lions, leopards, and hyenas.

Predator-prey behaviour will be observed during the game drive. In addition, there will be buffaloes, enormous forest hogs, leopards, spotted hyenas, Nile crocodiles, topis, and more.

After lunch and a quick nap at your lodge, take a boat ride across Kazinga Channel. A natural water channel known for housing a large population of hippos, which you see during the cruise, is the Kazinga Channel, which links Lake George and Lake Edward.

Observations of crocodiles in the water, elephants, antelopes, and buffaloes drinking water along the channel’s banks will also delight you. The cruise is a haven for birdwatchers because it offers up close views of a wide range of aquatic birds, such as herons, the elusive shoebill, and grey-crowned crested cranes.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 – Queen Elizabeth – Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, proceed to the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a full day of game viewing. This area of the park, which is located in the Southern Sector, is well-known for being home to the lions that climb trees, with their natural resting place on tree branches.

You will also witness numerous birds, buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes during the game drive.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Ishasha to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and take a game drive en route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha Sector.

After checking in, arrive at the park in time for lunch at your lodge. You can then relax at your lodge or take a stroll through the forest for the remainder of the day. Enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 6 – Gorilla Trekking

After enjoying an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters where you will meet other tourists for a briefing on gorilla trekking and appropriate behaviour. A senior ranger will provide you with comprehensive information regarding what to do and what not to do when in the gorillas’ presence.

You will go to the beginning and enter the Bwindi forest in groups of eight, accompanied by a ranger guide who will help you search for gorillas.

Finding the gorillas requires a trek through the lush forest that can take anywhere from two to six hours, depending on their movements, previous whereabouts, and feeding range. You see numerous birds and other primates, including olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, on the same trek.

Once you’ve found the chimpanzees, you’ll spend an hour with them photographing and studying their behaviours and habits, which are similar to those of humans. Among other things, you’ll get to see the babies playing together.

As long as your torch is off, you can snap photos. After picking up your gorilla certificate at the park headquarters, you can head back to your lodge for some afternoon relaxation. You can also visit the Batwa Community to get a taste of local culture.

Day 7 – Fly to Murchison Falls

After breakfast, proceed to Kihihi Airstrip to catch your early flight to Pakuba Airstrip, which will drop you off at Murchison Falls National Park. Our representative, your driver guide, will greet you and take you to your lodge so you can have lunch and relax.

You will take a game drive to the top of the falls in the afternoon, where you may see a variety of wildlife. You can witness the breathtaking falls at their highest point, where they form an 8-meter gorge by squeezing through the rocks. After your game drive and as many pictures as you like, you’ll head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8 – Morning game drive and cruise along the Nile

Have early breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive, early morning hours offer a great opportunity to see many animals such as lions, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, elephants, waterbucks and many birds.

Boat Cruise on Murchison Falls

You will head back to your lodge for lunch and a chance to freshen up after the game drive. You’ll take a boat ride down the Nile in the afternoon. Along the banks of the Nile, you can witness a variety of wildlife, including shoe-billed storks, bee-eaters, coloured kingfishers, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants among others.

You can see the impressive waterfalls up close at the bottom of Murchison Falls after taking a boat ride.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 – Fly home

After a leisurely breakfast, take a drive to the airstrip to catch your return flight to Entebbe International Airport. You will make your connection for your international flight home once you get to the airport.
