Day 1: Kampala – Volcanoes National Park
Our Tour guide will pick up you from your hotel or the airport on the first day of your 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari and take you to Volcanoes National Park, which is well-known for its critically endangered mountain gorilla population. Depending on when you left, the drive takes around 2:30 hours as you take in the gorgeous scenery and winding roads. You could also choose to have lunch in Kigali while traveling. Once there, check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation options include luxury (5 Volcanoes Lodge), mid-range (Le Bamboo Lodge), and affordable (Muhabura Lodge).
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in the Morning at Iby’iwacu cultural village.
After breakfast and an assembly at the park headquarters for a briefing, you will be assigned to a gorilla family to track early on the second day of your 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari. Afterward, go into the jungle with the range guide, who will lead you to the precise location where you can view the gorillas. You will be ecstatic to see the gorillas; as you engage with them, snap as many pictures as you can. After spending no more than an hour with them, return to the park headquarters, where you will meet your guide and take a leisurely drive to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
After lunch, your guide will pick you up and take you to the Ibylwacu cultural village, where you will learn about and immerse yourself in the rich culture of Rwanda. In addition to many other activities, you will be able to practise using some tools and prepare regional meals and cuisines. After dinner, make your way back to your lodge for the night.
Day 3: Return to Kigali with an option of a Kigali city tour.
On the final day of your 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari, wake up to a calm morning, eat breakfast, gather your belongings, and head back to Kigali. Should you have the time, you should take a tour of Kigali to see the city’s daily activities, memorial sites, museums, and local market where you can purchase mementos to bring back home. You are then taken to the airport to catch your flight home.
