4 Days Nyungwe and Akagera Safari : Explore the best of Rwanda Chimpanzees in Nyunwe National Park and the only Savannah national park , perfect for a game drive.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
In the morning, you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and drive southwards to Nyungwe forest National park. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza, and the Rwanda genocide memorial site. After lunch, connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (Midrange)
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are much easier to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and videos. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch.
After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will return to the lodge Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (Midrange) for dinner as above
Day 3: Hike to Kamiranzovu waterfall & Transfer to Akagera NP
Have breakfast at leisure then drive to the park for a guided nature walk to Kamiranzovu waterfalls. The hike begins at 9am along a 5.9 kilometer trail, taking approximately 3½ hours to complete a round trip.
After your hike, have lunch and later transfer to Akagera National Park arriving in the evening. Drive to your lodge for dinner and accommodation at Akagera Game Lodge (Midrange).
Day 4: Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Boat Cruise & Transfer to Kigali.
Have breakfast at leisure then drive to the park for a guided morning game drive in the park. Look out for wildlife animals park like giraffes, buffalo, elephants, sitatunga, black and white rhinos, impala and so many more. Head back to your lodge for lunch and then embark on an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema. Get to see wildlife roaming at the lake shores and a variety of bird species in the area. Later drive back to Kigali city with drop off at your hotel.
Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel.
